Hello, and welcome to MaryMarie. This is a new adventure for me, so please bare with me as I work through the kinks of starting this new creative journey!
I’ve always been a lover of craft projects – I spent 10+ years hot gluing rhinestones and feathers to all my dance costumes, and it’s kind of spiraled from there. My dream job would be to restore homes, one DIY project at a time. Since I’ll probably never get a show on HGTV, I live that dream out by restoring our 1950’s home one room at a time. I love to keep busy, and find cleaning to be very therapeutic. Cleaning the kitchen before bed every night is my jam. I like to write out “To Do” lists just so I can cross things off, and sometimes I’ll re-write my list a few times until I like how my handwriting looks. My OCD is a work in progress. I joined a Crossfit gym in 2012, and it forever changed my life. It’s where I met my husband, and with that comes the privilege of being step-mother to two amazing teenage daughters. We are expecting another daughter in March 2021, and I’m excited to share my journey of being a new mom with you all.
I’m also a cat mom to Mia and Mango, but sadly had to put my sweet sweet love Mia down this past December 2020. She was my first love, and her legacy will forever live on through our new daughter, as her middle name is in memory of Mia. I try to be the best role model I can for our girls by teaching them how to be independent and strong, and show them that they are capable of doing anything they set their minds to. Creating this blog is just one more way to show them that it’s okay to go after your dreams.
